Today, we went to Peck's Wildwood Wildlife Park in Minocqua. It was really awesome. We go to Wilderness Walk in Hayward every year and this was tons better (although we still plan a trip to Wilderness Walk next weekend when we camp at the KOA). I can't believe I'd never heard of it before - we'll definitely be back soon! It was well worth the hour and a half drive - although if I can find a way for Riah to stop picking on Kaitlyn, especially when she is sleeping, that would make the trip go even better! Here are some of my favorite pictures.
The best part was all the 'hands-on" time we had. In the Nursery, there were many animals that could be touched and even held. And the attendants were constantly bringing out new animals for the children (and mommy too!) to pet. And there were a lot of goats and a couple very large turtles just wandering around. Here is Kaitlyn with one of my favorites - a baby goat! The were so cute!!

Our 2nd favorite part was the deer park. There were a lot of very friendly deer (and an elk!) but the big ones all lost our attention when we saw the fawns. They were so sweet and there were so many of them! Some appeared to be just days old and they just wandered around on their own.

Well that's enough pictures for this page or it will take forever to load! I took a lot more pictures and you can check them out by visiting our Photo Album by clicking "Photos" at the top of the page. In case you can't tell, we really enjoyed the trip today. The park had more animals than we imagined for a small town park. Kaitlyn & Rissa listed the ones they could remember and they came up with 45 different animals. And Grandpa Beau showing up on his way home from Madison to buy us lunch was a great treat too! Thanks Beau! And thanks to Rissa for helping me today - I don't think I could have chased after both girls without you!
